How this ranking is made
Sources, period, tally method, and limitations — all public.
Data source
Starting from the "Olive Young recommendations" post that went viral on Threads in late June 2026 (1.85M+ views, ~1,300 comments), we continuously collect posts on the same topic and tally cumulatively. We read product mentions from comment screenshots and publish only tally results plus one short quote of 15 characters or less — never full comment text. As a supplementary source, we also extract product mentions (facts only) from YouTube Olive Young videos (excluding those marked as ads) and mark them as 'YouTuber picks', which never affect ranking scores.
Tally method
For the 481 collected recommendations:
① Merge different spellings of the same product (e.g. "BIODERMA Sensibio" = "BIODERMA cleansing water")
② Tally each product's mentions · total likes · staff/crew/VIP endorsements
③ Score = mentions×3 + log(1+likes) + staff picks×5
④ Duplicate comments in one screenshot count once; negative reviews are excluded
We dampen likes with a logarithm so that one viral comment can't outrank a product recommended repeatedly by many different people. This site's core signal is "how many different people recommended it."
Identifying staff picks
Only comments where the writer identified themselves as Olive Young staff/crew/VIP count as staff picks. We have no way to verify identities, and we disclose that limitation as-is.
Limitations
The sample comes from Threads, so it reflects the tastes of Threads' user base. Like counts are as of screenshot time. We have no financial relationship with any brand or retailer; purchase links are Coupang Partners affiliate links that pay a small commission (unrelated to rankings).

Starting from a viral Threads post with over 1.85M views, we collected real Korean users' recommendation comments on Olive Young posts, merged different spellings of the same product, and tallied mentions, likes, and staff endorsements. No ads or sponsorships — rankings come from real recommendation data only.
